Spots, stains, cracks may be obvious and, if so, will tend to lessen the price of the antique pearl jewelry. Attractive antique pearls are considered more expensive; however, malformed, ornate pearls can also be so elegant and usually price less.  

Antique pearl size is very important, we can see different type’s pearls but larger pearls are rare. Measured in millimeters, their size may vary from like small stone pearls. Antique pearl jewelry could be very costly.  

Pearl jewelry is extremely sensitive to hairspray, perspiration, cosmetics, perfume and other acids like vinegar or lemon juice. Care should be taken against to heat, as this may dry the pearls and it can be crack. Store your pearl jewelry separately in individual jewelry pouchs and away from direct heat. Pearls should be cleaned by using a soft cloth and if necessary, pearl jewelry may also be cleaned in a solution especially for pearls.
